Finding the diameter of Hastelloy C276 pipe fittings can be confusing. The inside diameters of these pipes must be large enough to fit the outer diameters of other pipes. The best way is to find the nominal pipe size. For male threads, measure the outside diameter of the fitting while measuring the inside diameter for female threads. Wrap a string around the pipe and touch them together and measure it with a ruler. Divide the circumference by 3.14159 and convert it to the nominal diameter.
