These flanges exhibit multiple desirable properties, led by strength and corrosion resistance. Stainless steel 317L flangesuse an austenitic grade with the addition of molybdenum and a low percentage of carbon. This composition grants them protection against creep and stress-to-rupture.
ASTM A182 Grade F317L weld neck flanges boast high tensile strength (~590 Mpa) for versatile and challenging uses, e.g., flue gas desulphurization and chemical processing.
Most prominent SS 317l flanges manufacturer in India
The usual methods for an SS 317L flanges are fusion and resistance welding. It doesn’t suffer from intergranular corrosion, and post-welding treatments are unnecessary. Oxyacetylene welding does not get used for an A182 F317L lap joint flanges. Note that this material does not respond to heat treatment but only cold working.

Stainless Steel 317L Blind flanges
Blind flanges can seal a piping section or facilitate testing and repair. Galvanisation is an excellent solution to prevent a stainless steel 317L blind flanges from corrosion and natural elements. It uses a protective zinc coating, preferably through a hot dip (submersion in molten zinc).
Galvanisation also protects these components from physical damage through a metallurgical bond between the metal and the zinc. Overall, buyers experience longer service duration and a low probability of crevices. We recommend using a sufficiently thick coat to ensure adequate binding duringgalvanisation.
As stockist we keep one of the broadest selections of UNS S31703 weld neck and socket weld flanges in Class 150# to 2500#

Manufacturers issue sizing charts for flanges per the ASTM A182specifications. The standard sizes are 1/2″ to 100″, available across schedules like SCH160S, XS, XXS, etc. Clients can order the desired ASTM A182 F317L plate flanges in sizes 1/2″ to 64″ (NB). These components, produced from steel plates, frequently operate in high-pressure conditions. Measuring and using the correct sized flanges is, therefore, critical.
Inch sizes are standard for a SS 317L socket weld flanges(where the pipe fits into a socket and gets secured by a fillet weld). But many mills share metric and inch figures. The former get listed as the nominal diameter, or DN, measured in mm.
Lower costs and easier installation make these flanges popular choices in many projects. UNS S31703 slip on flanges connect to the pipe by fillet welds and can use different face types. An A182 Gr F317L SORF flanges (raised face) is a common choice, with the sealing face jutting out from the plane of the bolting circle.
Contrastingly, a flat face flanges has the surface of the gasket and the bolting circle in one plane (uniplanar). These gaskets offer a larger sealing area and are best for low-pressure conditions. Ring-type joint flanges, another widespread choice, are preferable to manage high temperatures and pressure.
Other alternatives are a tongue-and-groove flanges, the faces comprising a raised ring and a matching depression. Some applications prefer an M&F flanges face – male, female. An SS 317L WNRF flanges (a weld-neck raised face) remains oft-used, despite the available options, for sheer strength and excellent versatility.
Threaded flanges rely on a screw thread to connect to the piping. ASTM A182 F317L threaded flanges need further testing to judge strength, quality, and suitability for the application.
Non-destructive testing is typical for these components. Most manufacturers use radiography to detect corrosion and issues in thread alignment.Magnetic particle detection and ultrasonic examination can diagnose cracks and deformities.
